Nursing Science

The research in the study programme Healthcare and NursingPLUS covers all health-promoting measures and topics relevant for nursing practice in our discipline and in the related health professions and emergency services. Furthermore, multidisciplinary research projects for the development and application of virtual reality are carried out and the end users are always at the heart of the proposed solutions. Another main focus of our research activities is on the Advanced Nursing Process, especially on the (further) development of nursing diagnoses and on decision-making and accuracy in nursing diagnosis. For this purpose, we use conventional teaching concepts and critical thinking approaches as well as clinical decision support systems. The wide range of topics is rounded off by the improvement of resilience, simulations-based research, and mathematical competencies in nurses, which provides a good foundation for research-oriented and interprofessional teaching in our study programme and in the continuing education programme Preclinical Treatment and Care.
